I am very excited tonight as tomorrow I head of on the train with my bag's full ready to run two workshop this weekend at Hope and Elvis.
I was invited a while back now by the lovely Louise and have been looking forward to it for some time and I have heard that her studio is pretty impressive and full of gorgeous things.
The first workshop will not start until Saturday morning but I am going to meet Louise at Kempton Park tomorrow (Friday) as we are going to visit the Antiques fair there I just hope the rain holds of for us I am packing my warm hat and scarf.....
I am running two workshops this weekend. Saturdays is going to be exciting, Louise has collected lots of old cuttlery boxes that we are going to make into little theatres and memory boxes .....
Sundays workshops will revolve around a pile of gorgeous old books that Louise has also collected for the event
I will post photos from the weekend once I am back to London
Until then below are some images of recent work that I have been working on lots of the pieces I am taking with me for the weekend.
I have been working on these embroideries recently which I am so enjoying doing I have been painting up old frames with this lovely chocolate brown paint which looks great against the detailed embroidery.
I have also been busy drawing here lately I am re discovering Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood
http://www.museumofchildhood.org.uk/
I spent a lot of time there when I was at Goldsmiths completing my Dissertation drawing the dolls and especially old childrens clothes.
I want to produce a collection of small prints of fabric from my drawings using simple screen printing combined with embroidery.
I know some of you are booked on my workshops this weekend so I am looking forward to seeing you there!
Have a lovely weekend all
